On the evening of
March 20, 2003, hundreds of anti-war activists attempted
to march on one of Massachusetts' main highways, the
Massachusetts Turnpike.
Marching away from a organized
anti-war rally the demonstrators attempted to access the
Turnpike at Mass Ave and Newbury St. The Boston Police
could not even fathom what the protesters were planning.
Through use of force and aggressive
use of motorcycles the march was stopped half way down
the on-ramp, but the event was heavily covered my major
Boston media outlets.
